As we informed you earlier, on 1st June 2007 a new legislation called REACH came into force. The first stage of REACH has now been closed, before 1st December 2008 all chemical substances, where necessary, needed to be pre-registered.
This European directive is applicable for all manufacturers, and downstream users of chemicals within Europe. For non-European companies, importing goods from Europe, it’s important to be assured REACH compliance from their supplier, in order to secure future supply.
Since BluePrint Products is a manufacturer of preparations, downstream user of chemical substances, we are not obliged to do the registration of the chemical substances (raw materials) ourselves. Therefore we’re working in close contact with our suppliers, who formally confirmed that all chemical substances in our products, if not exempt from REACH, have been pre-registered and will be registered in due time according the REACH timetable:
- December 2010: registration of substances with a volume of > 1.000 t/y
- June 2013: registration of substances with a volume of > 100 t/y
- June 2018: registration of substances with a volume of > 1 t/y
Within all our R&D efforts, it’s a priority to select only those raw materials that will create or leave the least possible burden to the environment, therefore it’s unlikely that any of the raw materials in use would be banned in the future,so the present product range will remain available as it is, and obviously all newly introduced products will be based on REACH registered materials only.
In cooperation with our supplier’s we will keep you informed at all times off possible actions you’ll have to perform (only needed within Europe).
Safety datasheets will have to be updated and will be provided in due course when applicable, in line with the official REACH implementation program.
